Alejandro Garcia (Alex) spent over 30 years in the Air Force working a variety of positions in logistics, business management, recreation services, and human resources. Living in many locations around the world he moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 2014 to be close to his children and grandchildren. His charismatic leadership, team-building abilities, and overall experience make Alex a valuable member of Leadership Resources as a Strategic Growth Specialist and Leadership Development Specialist.
The military presented Alex with an abundance of leadership and management positions which groomed him into being a highly versatile and dynamic professional. His started by specializing in logistical management, providing parts and supplies in support of military base operations. Afterwards, he received his officer commission and was assigned as a senior manager of military bases’ business and recreational programs. At the peak of this period, he was selected to command a squadron of over 350 people, 35 different operations, and a multi-million-dollar budget. His final years in the military offered him a unique chance to join NATO where he audited and provided advice to the 28-member Nations. His first civilian job opportunities came while working for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. There he was a training coordinator for economic assistance state programs, then was promoted to the Director of Human Resources and Development.
Alex is an active student of life-long learning, continuously seeking out educational opportunities. He earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and an Associate’s Degree in Logistic Management. Throughout his military career he attended many formal leadership and professional development programs to include Airmen Leadership School, Noncommissioned Officers’ Academy, Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, Air War College, and Joint Forces Staff College. He is also a certified executive coach through the Center for Executive Coaching.
